Language Enhancement Programme
Sponsorship Scheme for Language Enhancement Activities (2025-2026)
Introduction
Students will propose and organize language enhancement activities of English and/or Putonghua while the Language Centre will offer financial support and guidance. Students should hold the activities before 19 June 2026.
Application
Interested students/groups/student societies can apply by completing the “Proposal Template” (*Please access this link with any browser other than Chrome) and emailing it to sall@hkbu.edu.hk
Application deadlines:
Phase I: 3 October 2025 (Fri)
Phase II: 16 January 2026 (Fri)
Phase III: 6 March 2026 (Fri)
Eligibility
All HKBU UGC-funded undergraduate and postgraduate degree students and HKBU student societies
Sponsorship Amount
$1,000 – $10,000 for each activity
Notes:
- The sponsored amount can only be used for promotional materials, decorations, teaching / learning materials, etc., but not refreshments, prizes, nor gifts.
- Organizers are paid the student helper rate.
- Examples of activities:
- IELTS speaking practice sessions
- Conversation practice
- Tips for taking the IELTS
- Sharing a reflection on films/TV series/books
- Game night
Remuneration & Certificate
All successful applicants who implemented their respective activities can receive remuneration and apply for a certificate before 10 July 2026 (Fri).
