HKBU Sponsorship Scheme for the
IELTS Test 2024-2025

To encourage students to take the IELTS Test, HKBU will provide full reimbursement of the IELTS test fee for students who take the IELTS Test (Academic Module).

Eligibility

HKBU students enrolled on a UGC-funded undergraduate programme who have obtained an overall band score of 7 or above in the IELTS Test (Academic Module) taken between 16 June 2024 and 15 June 2025 may apply. Students will be reimbursed the full test fee (i.e. an overall score of 7 or above) (see details below and the application form). To maximize the number of students who will benefit from the scheme, each student is allowed to submit ONE application only throughout the entire period of study at HKBU.

Application Procedures

  • Fill in the Application Form and Submit the IELTS Test Report (Academic Module) and Receipt of the IELTS Test Fee
 
  • Update the local bank account details under “Study Record & Personal Particulars” in BUniPort before the submission of the Application Form.

Application Deadlines

  • 30 November 2024 (For IELTS tests (Academic Module) held between 16 June 2024 and 31 July 2024)
 
  • 31 March 2025 (For IELTS tests (Academic Module) held between 1 August 2024 and 31 January 2024)
 
  • 30 June 2025 (For IELTS tests (Academic Module) held between 1 February 2025 and 15 June 2025)

Reimbursement

Eligible students will receive the reimbursed amount through autopay in the local bank within three months after the application deadline. Students will receive email notifications from the Finance Office upon completion of the autopay transaction.

*For students who take IELTS tests outside Hong Kong, the reimbursed amount of the test fee will be made in Hong Kong dollars (the exchange rate is calculated based on the HKBU Finance Office designated monthly exchange rate), and the maximum amount of reimbursement should not exceed the amount of the test fee in Hong Kong.
 
Students can only be reimbursed ONCE throughout their entire study period at HKBU.
