DIGITAL CREDENTIAL PROGRAMME
About the Programme
The Language Centre of Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) has partnered with Credly as the first higher education institution in Hong Kong to introduce the digital credential scheme. The Credly platform and its digital badging tools are used as a framework of recognizing and validating your skills and allow you to create a verified form of digital learning portfolio as part of a competency-based, student-centred approach to language learning. You are encouraged to utilise the platform to document your language learning journey and celebrate your achievements throughout your years of studies at HKBU.
List of Badges and Eligibility
Overview: Language Centre issues digital badges for three types of credentials to eligible students. There are different levels of engagement expected for each type of credentials in the programme, and students will have to fulfil the respective requirements in order to claim a digital badge.
Language Centre of Hong Kong Baptist University X Credly
Students who have demonstrated exceptional professionalism and made significant contributions to Language Centre events are eligible to receive the prestigious Diamond badges. These badges are awarded to individuals who have gone above and beyond in their involvement and have made a noteworthy impact on the success of LC events.
Students who participated in or contributed to competitions or other services organised by the Language Centre are eligible to receive the badges for their commitment to fostering the language-learning community.
Students who completed supplementary courses, tutorial programmes and workshops and met certain criteria are eligible to receive the badges for their self-initiated efforts for language learning (The criteria vary across different courses, workshops and programmes).
Students who earn an A- or above in the required or elective credit-bearing courses are eligible to receive the badges for their excellent performance.
How to apply
- Step 1: Students who are eligible for the badges will receive an email invitation to fill out a form where they can confirm their intention to take the badge.
- Step 2: Successful applicants will receive an email notification from Credly to create an account and claim the badge. For details on accepting a badge, please refer to the instructions provided by Credly here.
