Introduction
Rather than an imitation of life, drama is sometimes criticised as more of an invention removed from reality. Through paring off melodramas, elaborate costumes and stage props, we hope to lay bare the theatre as if it were a fragment of the world, that faithfully reflects human actions, emotions and experiences. Slice of life as a genre features prominently in our sessions, during which we will perfect vocal techniques, gestures and facial expressions, workshop and adapt plays for everyday context. All are welcome and no prior knowledge is required. After all, to play is to play!
