HKBU Sponsorship Scheme for the IELTS Test 2020-2021

To encourage students to take the IELTS Test, HKBU will provide full reimbursement of the IELTS test fee for students who take the IELTS Test (Academic Module).

DETAILS

Eligibility

HKBU students enrolled on a UGC-funded undergraduate programme who have obtained an overall band score of 7 or above in the IELTS Test (Academic Module) taken between 1 May 2020 and 15 June 2021 may apply. To maximize the number of students who will benefit from the scheme, each student is allowed to submit one application only in the academic year.

Fill in the Application Form and Submit the IELTS Test Report (Academic Module) and Receipt of the IELTS Test Fee

Update the local bank account details under “Study Record & Personal Particulars” in BUniPort before the submission of the Application Form.

APPLICATION DEADLINES

31 March 2021 (For IELTS tests (Academic Module) held between
1 May 2020 and 28 February 2021)

31 May 2021 (For IELTS tests (Academic Module) held between
1 March 2021 and 30 April 2021)

30 June 2021 (For IELTS tests (Academic Module) held between
1 May 2021 and 15 June 2021)

Reimbursement

Eligible students will receive the reimbursed amount through autopay in the local bank within three months after the application deadline. Students will receive email notifications from the Finance Office upon completion of the autopay transaction.

*For students who take IELTS tests out of Hong Kong, the reimbursed amount of the test fee will be made in Hong Kong dollars (the exchange rate is calculated based on the HKBU Finance Office designated monthly exchange rate), and the maximum amount of reimbursement should not exceed the amount of the test fee in Hong Kong.
